Romance after 60? Why not? Sex? Of course. Living together? Yes and no. But on the other hand, maybe.
Love can blossom at any time in life. Falling in love is not only for the young. It’s for everyone. Of any age. At any time. But, of course, love is never without its complications.
We all like a good love story, and “Full Disclosure or Romance After 60,” the new Dean Taylor comedy, includes all the elements of a fine romantic comedy: jealousy, intrigue, deception and, of course, passionate exchanges.
Take George, a 70-something widower, a male chauvinist of the first order and an intensely jealous person with a suspicious nature. All of which leads to a series of difficulties when he falls for Liz, a widow with a past. Naturally, George can’t stand that she has a past.
Right away we can see that he and Liz are an unlikely combination.
Throw into this mix, two identical twins, one gay, one straight, who form a key part in the Liz-George relationship.
One further complication: a young vacuum cleaner salesman, is determined to develop a relationship with Liz, despite the fact that she is at least 30 years his senior.
Meanwhile, Liz has grown tired of the roller-coaster situation with George. The intense jealousy, the storming out followed by reconciliation. He’s going to have to change. He knows it. She knows it. But it will be a rough and bumpy road. Can he make it? Come see the show and find out.
The play includes a wonderful cast: Britt Zaist, Harry Coopersmith, Wade Ashley and Thomàs Bürkey. Verilea Ellis directs.
